Femininity - Asset or Liability?

Why do some females shudder at the very thought of wearing a dress? What’s gone wrong when she takes no pleasure in her own femininity, preferring jeans over skirts, or a hard edged look over prettiness? Does it translate into a masculine attitude to life?
